Temple of Gruumsh
As told by Trif Teak
28th of Eleasis
Standing on a Dais, Ellumin and Trif sink into the ground along with the platform they stand on. Strange sensations and lights ensue, moments later they discover they're somewhere completely unknown. A Temple? More dungeons? Quickly finding their way outside they discover an unfamiliar landscape and begin to make their way south in the rain, but not before Trif is somehow branded on her hand by unseen forces with a strange symbol. Travel is slow and uncomfortable in the rain and as night falls they make camp along hill side where a small cliff provides a tiny bit of shelter.

The next morning our Heroes are beginning to feel the small trail their on leads someplace better and sure enough by mid-morning they discover the small coastal village of Fleen. Here they find solace in a roof over their head and their first warm cooked meal in days. Athard, the unofficial lord of Fleen, warns of heroes that while they are welcome things aren't wholly safe here. He tells of monsters that come in the night, making off with their children. That night, sure enough the village bell sounds out danger and a young girl has been so taken. Our heroes agree to help Bren, the father of the girl track the creature down in hopes of rescuing her before she might be lost.

As they give chase through the night morning comes and naught a sign of the girl but drops of blood on the ground. Hours later a sight most unexpected appears before our adventuring party, a massive but seemingly abandoned keep with a gate so large as to easily span 200 feet wide and 400 feet tall. Wasting little time our party finds a hole in the embattlements and enter this most ancient of keeps.
