Blue Water Inn
As told by Ezra
14th of Elient
Approaching the gate Ezra simply can’t keep her mouth shut.
‘Good evening, mind letting us in?’ obviously the guards were suspicious of this rather large lady and her shady companions, who can blame them? They would have been rubbish guards otherwise.
After managing to convince them that the party was there merely for trade, wine in particular, they did let them in. Trif had turned herself into a mouse and nibbled non-stop on the fabric in Pike’s pocket. Who knows what the guards would have done if she hadn’t hidden?
The gang found an inn within the ‘village’ and got themselves a room to share. Despite Ezra not being the most perceptive of beings she got the distinct feeling that the tavern-owners knew that there was a fourth companion. Kind of strange, don’t you think?
They ordered food and drinks at had a jolly good time for the rest of the day and evening, the first they shared as a group. Whilst Pike and Fein were out doing Fein and Pike things, Ezra waited tables and gathered some information. The villagers seemed displeased and a bit bored by the festival which is held a couple of times a month, it also appeared it was time again. The festival is a way of celebrating the sun god and a desperate attempt at fighting off the demons – or so they are told. A woman quite loudly started complaining about the festivals and about the Burgomaster, she didn’t have time to say much before guards dragged her away. Ezra made an attempt to talk them out of it but stopped as she didn’t feel like going to prison was a good thing. She did feel guilty however as she was just standing by letting a woman get dragged away to be turned into stock.
The inn-keepers figured out that Trif was also there and made it clear they wanted to meet her, so they organized a rendezvous at around midnight.
Whilst Pike and Fein were out doing Fein and Pike things for the second time around, Ezra and Trif went to the local church. Ezra found out that this was to be a safe place for the night as something was going to happen. Ezra quite naturally got a bit nervous and sends Trif back to the inn in the form of a mouse, not considering the size of her and the speed one is limited to move at in such a shape, to get the other two. Ezra talks a bit more to the priest and takes a nap in the women’s shelter in the church. After a while Pike appears wanting Ezra to go back to the inn with him. Apparently it is better to stick together in a moment of crisis. As he is in the women’s shelter the ground, or the sky? starts rumbling. The priest comes in telling Pike he can’t be there. It transpires that the holy bones that used to be under the church, giving it its holy power were stolen a few nights ago. Pike and Ezra offer to help find them in the hopes that they can manage before nightfall and all the troubles that might ensue do.
