They don’t like me here, not even sure my companions like me. Ezra likes me I think, but she seems to attract trouble, we both do. The Blue Water Inn and the village of Vallaki is under attack this night. Ezra and Pike got hurt looking for the bones of Saint Andral which supposedly protects the church. Ezra got hurt bad and there are bites on her neck that I can’t heal.
When we ventured downstairs it was empty, the Keepers of the Feather were nowhere to be seen. Only two wolf hunters, Szoldar Szoldarovich and Yevgeni Krushkin were there, scared and manic, running from their own shadows. Pike followed them through the inn's hidden passages. They called me Baba Lysaga and no matter how many times I tried to tell them I meant them no harm they didn’t hear me and the fear in their mind and hearts made me feel sad. Sometimes the way I look and the way people see me, hinders them from seeing who I am inside. It even makes me doubt that the warmth and connection with the world I feel is real. I envy Orzen, or Fain as he goes by now, for being able to alter his look to please his surroundings, I wonder if he also hides who he is in his heart?
Our neighbor came back to the inn with his black panther, the one that I saw earlier. They entered their room but hastily left through either a hidden path or the window. We know because Ezra knocked on the door and broke it. She has far more power and stubbornness than me, many times I envy her. I'm knocked down by the slightest hit and so unsure of the path ahead that I tremble. However, with the Keepers of the Feather absent, the wolf hunters scared and no panther-man, we're alone in protecting people. Heading to the church I fear my presence will induce more fear, but I need to be at full capacity if I'm to be of any help in a fight. And it is a fight we're heading for, even looking for.
Since we entered these lands I sensed the forces of nature being held down and its yearn to be freed, yes I too am looking for a fight. We get assistance at the church, weapons for Pike and Gashur lanterns but nothing could have prepared us for what came. The plan was to burn the old Coffin Maker's shop to the ground, trapping everything inside - but something came for us. Crawling out on the walls - biting, clawing at everything. We tried to hold them off but Ezra is hit again. They've given her another bite; I fear we may not be able to heal her. The building is on fire I hope it burns to the ground, but for now I will try to get Ezra to safety, bones be bones.
