A modern frontier, Dargaard is home to a more hearty breed of humanoid. Once it was little more than a stepping stone for travelers to and from inner Cordotha. Now with the Western Gate closed, the cold sleepy valley is home to fewer and fewer farmers, miners and merchants selling their wares and goods to those who would buy them. Few settlements have survived in Dargaard. Antiacus remains however prosperous as a result of the famed Gnome furniture makers, ‘Antiacus Royal Carpentry and Decorations’ who use a very hard and rare wood from the nearby forest, “Kerasius Dasos.”
Up until 13 years ago Dargaard saw a fair amount of travelers to and from Cordotha. In recent times with the Western Gate now closed, the steady stream of travelers has been completely cut off. It does retain many of its original denizens and is home to the region’s famed historical marshals, O Prostátis, a somewhat antiquated but capable group of law enforcement.
A generally cold and wet valley lined with sage brush and glacier fed waterfalls. Large amounts of lichen covered rocks and boulders make any large scale farming difficult, only the larger more wealthy farms have been able to maintain. However due to the prolific lichen many herding animals namely Elk thrive in the region making hunting a popular if not necessary distraction.
